Brian Arnold is a Visiting Research Fellow with the Southeast Asia Program at Cornell University.  He holds an MFA in photography from the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, and has taught and lectured on photography at number of schools and universities around the world, including the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University, the Rochester Institute of Technology, the University of Indonesia, and the Institute of Technology in Bandung, among many other institutions.  Brian is conducting research on the history of photography in Indonesia, and is currently completing a book on contemporary fine art photography from Java with Afterhours Books in Jakarta.  Additionally, Brian has studied and performed Balinese and Javanese gamelan since 1993, and is currently a member of the Cornell University Gamelan Ensemble.
