Jonathan Corpus Ong is Associate Professor in Global Digital Media at the Department of Communication, University of Massachusetts at Amherst, USA. He is author of the book The Poverty of Television: The Mediation of Suffering in Class-Divided Philippines and co-editor of Taking the Square: Mediated Dissent and Occupations of Public Space. He is Co-Editor-in-Chief of the journal Television and New Media. He publishes in the area of media ethics, digital politics and ethnography of communication.
