Talking Indonesia Podcast: Inequality in Indonesia

waipoi.jpg

Inequality in Indonesia has reached record levels, with its growth among the most rapid in the region. What is driving this inequality, and what does Indonesian society look like as a result? How is the Joko Widodo government addressing inequality, and do its policies differ to those of Jokowi’s predecessor Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono?

Dave McRae, Senior Research Fellow at the Asia Institute in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Melbourne, explores these issues with Dr. Matthew Wai-Poi, senior economist in the poverty unit at the World Bank in Jakarta, on a podcast updated every fortnight called Talking Indonesia.
