Call for Applications: Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Comparative Literature at Chulalongkorn University

The Department of Comparative Literature, Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University invites applications for the 2020-21 post-doctoral fellowship. Situated in the heart of the cosmopolitan city of Bangkok, Chulalongkorn University is the oldest university in Thailand. Its Faculty of Arts is home to the country’s first Comparative Literature department, which now offers an undergraduate minor, a Master’s, and a Ph.D. program. In addition to teaching the best and the brightest young minds in the country, the Department is also committed to excellence in research. Its core faculty and affiliated members have been widely published in areas such as Gender Studies, World Literature, Thai Studies, and Translation Studies.

Applicants for the post-doctoral fellowship should have received their PhDs by August 2020. A degree in Comparative Literature is not necessary, but a focus on literature or related fields (such as Cultural Studies, Film Studies) is required. The applicant selected by the Department will partner with a faculty member and apply for a post-doctoral fellowship from the University. The fellowship will cover a monthly stipend as well as accommodation expenses.

During his/her appointment, the post-doctoral fellow will pursue his/her own research, attend academic activities organized by the Department, as well as teach one course per semester (either in Thai or in English). Before the completion of the appointment, the fellow is required to publish his/her research in a Q1 (top 25%) international journal.
