Administrative Supervisor, Echols Collection at Cornell University
The Echols Collection on Southeast Asia is seeking an administrative assistant IV. This individual will report to the Echols Curator and will provide general assistance and support to the department on a variety of levels. Responsibilities include: managing project activities and budgets, coordinating the student hiring process, supervising student employees, organizing Echols and/or Asia special events, preparing exhibits and ordering supplies. This person will also be responsible for pre-selection searching, compiling statistics of incoming materials, answering general reference questions, maintaining/updating the Echols and Asia Collections website, and running social media accounts. Also performs selection of library materials, depending upon experience.
Required Qualifications:
Associates degree with 2 to 4 years of work experience or equivalent. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to work independently or in a team setting; proficiency with computers and standard office programs; ability to handle confidential information. No visa sponsorship is available for this position. No relocation assistance is available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Solid background knowledge of Southeast Asia and/or proficiency in one or more Southeast Asian languages; academic library experience; supervisory/managerial experience.
