American Indonesian Cultural & Education Foundation Overseas Travel Grant

The Foundation grants scholarships to Indonesian PhD students currently enrolled in an accredited US university or college for their dissertation research in Indonesia. ​ These travel grants are typically $3,000.

General Requirements:

  • Indonesian citizens and not permanent residents of the US

  • Currently enrolled in a doctoral program in the United States

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to returning to Indonesia upon completion of the post-doctoral program

  • Have preparation in, and a demonstrated commitment to their chosen field of study

  • Demonstrate that they can realistically accomplish the research in Indonesia

Submission Requirements:

  • Scholarship Application. 

  • The most recent official transcript of your grades

  • Letter of recommendation

  • Copy of current I-20

  • Copy of passport visa

  • Enrollment verification certifying that you are in good academic standing in your university​

  • Sign and Send the Signature Form

  • Please note: Because of COVID-19 electronic copies of transcripts, I-20, passport visa,  and recommendation letters can be submitted by email to info@aicef.org.  The recommendation should be forwarded by a professor to our email address.  Contact the Registrar's office at your university to have them send your transcript by email.  They will usually have a simple procedure where they send a passcode to be used in downloading it.  You can email images of I-20 and passport.
