Call for Papers - Indonesia Focus Conference 2022
Description:
The 2022 Indonesia Focus Conference welcomes any research findings on important and interesting research ideas related to Indonesia. The conference will be hybrid, hosted by the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA.
The conference theme for this year is Bridging the gap across inequalities. The theme reflects ongoing issues during the COVID-19 pandemic and how scholars explore this topic from different perspectives. The conference focuses on sharing experiences as well as identifying short-term and long-term solutions for the recovery of Indonesia. The theme reflects a shared experience of the COVID-19 pandemic in the last three years that has brought out different experiences and challenges to all aspects of life such as economy, education, health, and socio-culture aspects across the world as well as in Indonesia. Gaps and inequalities started to exist whether based on different geographical locations or based on economic backgrounds. The vaccine is one example. Big cities tend to have better and faster access compared to smaller towns. Similar things happened to education, trade, industries, and tourism. While some businesses were forced to close, new businesses opened and are thriving. Moreover, some people were able to adapt while others struggled to deal with the impacts and changes due to pandemics.
The 2022 Indonesia Focus Conference invites scholars to share their research findings related to the theme of bridging these inequalities. The conference invites papers and panel proposals that reflect Indonesia’s unique challenges and opportunities related to the theme. In addition, the conference aims to bring together creative ideas and initiatives from other perspectives such as religion, culture, sports, health and human services, art, science, agriculture, and engineering. This conference provides an interdisciplinary forum for researchers, practitioners, and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, issues, concerns, challenges, and solutions within the topics related to Indonesia.
