Southeast Asian Studies Summer Institute (SEASSI)

Program Dates: June 16 - August 8, 2025
Undergraduate, graduate, and adult learners are all welcome to apply.
Offering In-Person courses for all levels of Indonesian, Thai, and Vietnamese.
Offering Online courses for all levels of Burmese, Filipino, Hmong, Javanese, Khmer, and Lao.
Plus, Online courses for elementary levels of Indonesian, Thai, and Vietnamese.
Because the scheduling of classes is contingent upon sufficient enrollment, especially for the upper levels, we encourage all interested individuals to apply and submit all relevant materials as soon as possible, even if waiting to hear back on any funding application decisions.
SEASSI classes meet Monday-Friday, 9am-2pm (CST) with a one-hour break. Upon completion of the program, students receive 8 UW-Madison credits and two transcript letter grades for each semester. Full program details available here.
