ONLINE EVENT: Introduction to Cham Poetry

resurrectingcham.jpeg

The Cham people are descendants of an ancient civilization in Southeast Asia with a contemporary population in Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia, and southeast Vietnam. The Cham diaspora has stretched across the globe with concentrated and active communities in Malaysia, Australia, California, and Washington state.

Resurrected Writings, an Inanlou Agency Production, is proud to present an Introduction to Cham Poetry. This event, featuring speakers Ibrahim Perry and Faridah Haji Inanlou, will allow you to learn the two types of Cham literature, and to discover through poetry the sentiments of an ancient civilization during significant points in history marked by empire takeover and colonialism. This event is for the curious, curators, and Chams open to rediscovering themselves through art.
