Asian Development Bank (ADB) Chief Economist Albert Park will discuss key findings from the recently-released Asian Development Outlook (ADO) April 2023. The ADO provides a comprehensive analysis of economic development in Asia and the Pacific. Dr. Park will highlight current challenges and risks to development outlooks in the region, including Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and global financial conditions.
 
In addition to serving as Chief Economist, Park is also Director General of ADB’s Economic Research and Regional Cooperation Department and leads the production of ADB’s flagship knowledge products and support for regional cooperation fora.
 

Park is a development and labor economist who is an expert on China's economic development. He is Head and Chair Professor of Economics, Professor of Public Policy, and Director of the Center for Economic Policy at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (on leave). Park previously taught at the University of Michigan and Oxford University. A US national, he received his BA in economics from Harvard University and his doctorate in applied economics from Stanford University.
