About the Artist:

Don Amatayakul hails from the vibrant city of Bangkok, Thailand. His journey into the world of photography started during a memorable trip to Florence, Italy that sparked his passion for capturing the essence of cultures and architectural scenes. Entranced by the cityscape around him, young Don found his muse.

A pivotal moment arrived when Don received a traditional point-and-shoot camera as a gift from his father. Guided by his uncle, a seasoned commercial photographer in Bangkok, Don delved into the world of photography and by high school, he was teaching himself different photo-editing softwares.

Residing in the bustling heart of Bangkok, Don naturally gravitated towards cityscapes and architectural wonders. The city, with its energy and charm, became his canvas. Don embarked on visual storytelling adventures, capturing the ever-evolving metropolis in his own unique way.

Don’s photography serves as a lens through which the beauty of Bangkok can be rediscovered. His work often illuminates hidden corners and lesser-known spots within the urban sprawl. By spotlighting these overlooked gems, he challenges viewers to appreciate the often unnoticed splendor of their surroundings. Don’s dedication to capturing the city’s eccentricities not only showcases his artistic prowess but also becomes a profound exploration of his own identity.

Don studied Photography at the Faculty of Architecture, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, where he honed his skills and nurtured his passion. His talent has not gone unnoticed, as he frequently collaborates with industry giants such as Canon Thailand and Canon Asia. Through his art, Don Amatayakul continues to capture the soul of Bangkok, inviting viewers to witness the city’s magnificence through his discerning eyes.
