Description:
Join Sulo: The Philippine Studies Initiative at NYU and NYSEAN for a presentation and performance by Troy Laureta, a Filipino American musical director, keyboardist, and producer who has worked with David Foster and Ariana Grande. This Filipino American History Month celebration is being held in honor of his recently completed trilogy of albums, Kaibigan (2020), Giliw (2021), and Dalamhati (2023). Arranged as a “critical jam session,” this performance will draw from the range of Laureta’s works and his collaborations with artists such as Ariana Grande, Ruben Studdard, Nicole Scherzinger, Regina Velasco, Ogie Alcasid, and more. We will also celebrate the breadth of Filipino American musicians throughout the ages, and the audience will be invited to join us in live karaoke throughout.
