Elvin Ong

Elvin Ong is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the National University of Singapore. He was previously a postdoctoral fellow at the Centre for Southeast Asia Research, Institute of Asian Research, University of British Columbia. He obtained his Ph.D. in political science from Emory University. His research focuses on political parties in electoral authoritarian hybrid regimes, particularly opposition parties in East and Southeast Asia. His research has been published in numerous disciplinary journals, such as the American Journal of Political Science, Party Politics, Government and Opposition, and Electoral Studies, and in regional journals, such as Contemporary Southeast Asia, the Journal of East Asian Studies, and the Asian Survey.
