Jay Sophalkalyan is a Cambodian writer based in Brooklyn, with a keen focus on journalism, political analysis, and global issues. He earned his bachelor’s degree in English and Creative Writing from Springfield College, followed by a master’s degree in Experimental Humanities from NYU, where he specialized in journalism and international relations. As the former Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Political Inquiry (JPI), Jay helped steer a leading platform for in-depth political discourse. He is also a regular contributor to Quillette, a platform known for tackling provocative subjects and championing free speech. His writing frequently explores complex topics such as decolonization, immigration, and political culture, offering nuanced perspectives that challenge conventional narratives.
