Menn is currently a doctoral student in the Social Studies Education program at Teachers College, Columbia University. His research interests primarily focus on the intersection of civic/citizenship education with history education and how these are influenced by a state's ideology. Prior to his doctoral studies, he taught social studies and history subjects at the secondary school level and instructed social studies curriculum and teaching-related courses for undergraduate students in Bangkok, Thailand.
