Luis Zuriel P. Domingo

Born and raised in Manila, the Philippines, Luis Zuriel P. Domingo (he/him) is a historian of Southeast Asia. At the intersection of intellectual history and cultural studies, his works center on the history of nationalism in the region, emphasizing the Philippines. Zuriel [zur-yel] is particularly interested in how nationalism functioned and was expressed through the thinking and works of anti-colonial/anti-imperial intellectuals, revolutionaries, and radicals in the late nineteenth to twentieth centuries. At present, Zuriel is an Assistant Professor of History at the College of Social Sciences of the University of the Philippines in Baguio. He earned his BA and MA degrees in History from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila.
