Muhammad Thaufan Arifuddin is a PhD student at Department of International Cooperation Studies, GSID Nagoya University, Japan. His major interests are Dialectics of Fukuyama-Zizek-Laclau&Mouffee, Islamic Philosophy, global shia diaspora, Western Philosophy, Marxism, habermasian-Frankfurt School, Post-Marxism, media studies, postcolonial and subaltern studies, civil society, new elitism, Proletariat-grassroots politics, social movement, populism, mediatization, and cultural-Japanese studies. He is doing PhD research on civil society and oligarchy in post Suharto Indonesia
