NYU Linguistic String Project; Temple University's Center for Vietnamese Philosophy, Culture & Society

Ngô Thanh Nhàn, Ph.D. Linguistics, is a fellow in Vietnamese Nôm and Folk Music Studies of the Center for Vietnamese Philosophy, Culture & Society of Temple University, and a visiting scholar at New York University, Linguistic String Project. Dr. Nhàn is a co-coordinator of the Vietnam Agent Orange Relief & Responsibility Campaign. He currently teaches đàn tranh [Vietnamese 16-string zither] at the Folk Arts–Cultural Treasures Charter School in Philadelphia. He is a board member of Mekong NYC and the Institute for Vietnamese Culture & Education. He is currently a member of MẮM Mekong Arts & Music Troupe in New York. He is also a vice president of Yes We Can Music, LLC. He was a member of Peeling the Banana (1995-2003), vice president of Vietnamese Nôm Preservation Foundation (1999-2007), editors of Thời Đại, Muæ, Viet Magnet, Vietnam Culture Journal,... in the past. He helped reading and translating the Nom books and manuscripts at the Vatican Apostolic Library in 2018.
