Soksamphoas Im is a Political Scientist specializing in Social Policy Analysis and Comparative Politics. Her research focuses primarily on authoritarianism, social welfare policy, and populism studies in Southeast Asia, emphasizing Cambodia and Thailand. From January 2022 to April 2023, she was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Center for Khmer Studies, researching COVID-19 impacts on Tourism Workers in Cambodia with the Sydney Southeast Asia Centre, University of Sydney.
She holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Political Science from the University of Hawaii at Manoa; and M.Sc. in Defense, Development, and Diplomacy from Durham University.
