My undergraduate honors thesis in Political Science focused on the role of culture in regimes of violence, comparing the Khmer Rouge nihilist regime to that of Stalinist Russia and of Rwanda's genocide. Although I am not now affiliated with an academic institution, I have been involved with grassroots movements and community-based organizations, and non-profit organizations to actively address issues impacting refugees of Southeast Asia, such as deportation, post-trauma healing, and memory, community leadership and service, and the evangelization of art and culture from the Cambodian diaspora.
