In this paper published by NYSEAN Partner ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute, authors Lim Halimatusa’diyah and Wahyudi Akmaliah analyze the impact of “halal lifestyle” or social conservatism, which is a growing practice in Indonesia today, on individuals' occupational preferences, domestic economic trends, and socioeconomic dynamics within Indonesian society.

Lim Halimatusa’diyah is a Visiting Fellow at the ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute Regional Social and Cultural Studies Program. Wahyudi Akmaliah is a PhD candidate in Malay Studies at the National University of Singapore and a researcher at the National Research and Innovation Agency, Jakarta.
