Lauren Yee will share her inspiration for "Cambodian Rock Band", her love for theater, and what it's like to present narratives that cast actors of color as heroes in their own stories.
She is the second most-produced playwright in the country for the 2019/20 season, (American Theatre Magazine). Her plays, The Great Leap and Cambodian Rock Band, also topped the list of top 10 most-produced plays in the country.
Past awards include: Doris Duke Artist Award, the Steinberg Playwright Award, the Horton Foote Prize, the Kesselring Prize, the ATCA/Steinberg Award, American Academy of Arts and Letters Literature award, and the Francesca Primus Prize.
