BODIES OF WATER: Poetry and Conversation with Diasporic Vietnamese Artists

  • Asian American Writers Workshop 112 West 27th Street #600 New York, NY (map)

Join us for poetry and conversation with Vietnamese artists Paul Tran, Benedict Nguyen, Cathy Linh Che, t. tran le, Duy Doan, and Xoai Pham.

This reading will be followed by a deconstructed panel, where poets will sit among the audience in a circle and be part of an open forum about Vietnamese art, culture, and organizing. The night explores the relationship between Vietnamese people and water. Vietnam is filled with deltas, rivers, streams, rainfall, and lies next to the Pacific. Many of us came to the U.S. as "boat people." How has water influenced our lives and identities? What memories does water hold for us?
