Please join us for a moderated discussion on "Situating COVD-19 in Southeast Asia," featuring panelists from the University of Washington and Southeast Asia. 

The discussion will be moderated by University of Washington Southeast Asia Center Director Celia Lowe.  Panelists include:

  • Suraya Afiff, Associate Professor, Department of Anthropology, Universitas Indonesia

  • Mary Callahan, Associate Professor, Jackson School of International Studies

  • Rethy Chhem, Medical Doctor, Science Diplomat, Educator, and Historian. Former Chair of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, U. of Western Ontario. Currently, Minister Delegate by Royal Decree Attached to the Prime Minister of Cambodia.

  • Hoàng t. Diệu-Hiền, RN, MN, MPH, PhD, Lecturer in Nursing at Seattle Colleges and UW SEAC Affiliated Faculty  

  • Pisith Phlong, Ph.D. Candidate, University of Western Ontario. M.A in Cultural Anthropology, Northern Illinois University. Expert on public sector reform in Cambodia.

  • Vicente Rafael, Professor of History

  • Anusorn Unno, Associate Professor and former Dean of the Faculty of Anthropology and Sociology, Thammasat University
