Transitions to Peace: The Philippines in Comparative Perspective

unnamed.png

This roundtable will focus on the dilemmas countries face when attempting to navigate the transition from signing a peace agreement to implementing an agenda for post-conflict governance. Drawing on the case of the Bangsamoro peace process in the southern Philippines, panelists representing a range of perspectives will discuss challenges and opportunities for the next phase of its transition as laws are passed, institutions are created, and stakeholders adapt to the newly created semi-autonomous regional authority. Panelists will also reflect on how comparative frames of reference have influenced their thinking and that of key decision-makers.
