I am a Ph.D. candidate in city and regional planning at the University of Pennsylvania. Currently, I am undertaking a comparative study of cultural heritage conservation in the historic urban neighborhoods known as "Chinatowns" in Singapore and Vancouver, Canada. Formerly, I worked as a city planner in the US and Canada, researched historic preservation in Taiwan, and taught urban studies and planning at Hunter College, CUNY. I hold master's degrees in city planning (Georgia Tech) and East Asian regional studies (Columbia).
