Helen Jiang

Helen Jiang is studying Indonesian and a joint-M.A.candidate in Public Administration and International Educational Management at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, CA, but hails from Scarsdale, NY. Currently, Helen interns for the Presidential Management Fellowship and is a volunteer evaluator for State Department high school exchange programs, such as KL-YES that brings students from Muslim-majority countries to the U.S. Previously, she was the Program Coordinator at George Washington University’s Sigur Center for Asian Studies where she facilitated U.S.-Asia scholastic engagement through public lectures and the visiting scholars program. Her earlier work experience includes Peace Corps China, Critical Language Scholarship (recipient and Indonesian alumni ambassador), Independent Diplomat, Strategy XXI, American Red Cross, and UNICEF USA.
Helen holds a B.A. in International Affairs, concentration in Asia, from the George Washington University, and studied abroad in France and China. During her time in DC, she was a dedicated member of WRGW District Radio, Delta Phi Epsilon Professional Foreign Service Sorority, and Pi Beta Phi. She also was a TA for Indo-Pacific Security Challenges and Political Islam classes. Helen seeks paid, challenging, and engaging opportunities in NY, DC, CA, or remote, that are Asia-focused at political risk consulting firms, think tanks, or foundations that would make use of her extensive in-country, scholastic, and professional experiences.
