My expertise comes from involvement with Indochina for more than fifty years, first in the movement against the US war, then as a leader of the effort to achieve normal US diplomatic, economic, political, educational and cultural relations and to address humanitarian legacies. Twenty years ago my attention largely shifted to analogous issues with Cuba. However, I reengaged due to the conflict of the South China/East Sea and renewed debate about the history of the war and of the peace movement.
