Joven Ian Marquez
President Ramon Magsaysay State University
Joven Ian M. Marquez is a graduate of BSEd Social Studies and a Master of Arts major in Social Science Education at President Ramon Magsaysay State University (PRMSU). His master's thesis focused on the establishment of a University Museum at PRMSU. He also completed the three-year Museum Management Training for Higher Education Institutions organized by the University of the Philippines Baguio and funded by the Commission on Higher Education. Currently, he is taking his Doctor of Philosophy in Southeast Asian Studies degree at Centro Escolar University Manila.
Mr. Marquez presently serves as the Extension Services Coordinator of PRMSU College of Teacher Education and concurrently the curator of President Ramon Magsaysay State University Museum. He teaches Asian Studies, History, Cultural Education, Geography, and Professional Education courses at the College of Teacher Education of President Ramon Magsaysay State University. His research interests broadly cover Central Luzon local history, Southeast Asian cultural heritage, and museum education. He also served as a resource speaker in seminar-workshops/ conferences organized by the Department of Education, National Historical Commission of the Philippines President Ramon Magsaysay Museum, Museum, and Library of President Diosdado Macapagal, at Samahang Pangkasaysayan ng Bulacan (SAMPAKA).
He is a member of the International Council of Museums (ICOM), a non-governmental, non-profit international organization of museums and museum professionals committed to the conservation, continuation, and communication to society of the world’s natural and cultural heritage, present and future, tangible and intangible. He is also a regular member of the Philippine Historical Association (PHA), the Philippine National Historical Society (PNHS), and the Organization of Social Studies Teachers in the Philippines, Inc.
