Michael L. Bąk
Co-Founder and Director of Policy Research at Sprint Public Interest
Michael L. Bąk has spent more than 25 years in Southeast Asia working in Indonesia and Thailand, as well as Hong Kong and Japan. A graduate of Johns Hopkins SAIS, he has held leadership roles at global organizations such as USAID, the UN, Facebook and the Paris-based Forum on Information and Democracy, tackling critical policy challenges in digital governance, sustainable development, human rights, and tech policy, including AI. He is currently a Senior Non-Resident Visiting Fellow at NYU Center for Global Affairs focusing on Cyber Policy, and is an Advisor to the Centre for AI leadership in Singapore. He is also the Co-Founder and Director of Policy Research at Sprint Public Interest, a public interest market research agency in Bangkok. He is fluent in multiple languages, including Bahasa Indonesia, previously fluent in Japanese and gets by in Thai. Across all his work, he has championed diversity and inclusion.
