Sreyneath Poole Carson

Sreyneath Poole is the Program Coordinator for the New York Southeast Asia Network (NYSEAN). Prior to joining NYSEAN, Sreyneath worked as a Global Policy Consultant at the Wildlife Conservation Society researching policy options and processes in achieving the recognition of intact forests in the UNFCCC Paris Agreement and the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. She also worked as a Program Assistant at Independent Diplomat, a diplomatic advisory group, supporting the organization’s advocacy project with USTPAC on transitional justice in Sri Lanka and its work with the government of the Republic of the Marshall Islands on climate diplomacy strategy.
Upon receiving a Bachelor’s degree emphasis in “The Nature of Imbalance: East Asian Politics and Media,” Sreyneath returned to her home country in Cambodia. She worked on genocide education at the Documentation Center of Cambodia and the Active Citizenship pilot project at Oxfam US that encourages citizenship engagement at the sub-national level. Through her work in the country, she was awarded a fully-funded scholarship and completed a Master’s degree in Global Affairs at Rutgers University in 2016. She is currently pursuing a second Master’s degree in Climate Change and Development at SOAS University of London and is a student member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.
A lover of football (soccer), Sreyneath spends her weekends watching Premier League games. She is a lifelong supporter of Liverpool Football Club.
