Interested in Southeast Asia and attending the Association of Asian Studies conference? Come learn more about the NYSEAN and how to become involved in our activities. NYSEAN was created in 2015 by Duncan McCargo, Ann Marie Murphy (Seton Hall University and Columbia), John Gershman (NYU) and Margaret Scott (NYU), with the generous support of the Luce Foundation. The network brings together scholars, students, and policy-makers from the greater New York area with an interest in Southeast Asia, and creates partnerships with colleagues elsewhere in the world. We organize and sponsor academic events, distribute an e-newsletter, and also run a website— www.nysean.org — which serves as a virtual hub for a lot of very real activities.

The conference is on March 18, 2017 from 1:00pm to 2:30pm. It will be held in the Kenora Room at Sheraton Centre Toronto (23 Queen St W, Toronto, ON M5H 2M9, Canada).
