Determining what approvals one needs for field research in a given country or on a particular topic
Tips for securing research visas and other permissions (with a focus especially on Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Thailand)
Suggestions for finding and working with local partners and affiliations
How to adapt to logistical roadblocks or mishaps
Best practices for ethical, safe field and online research
