2021 SEAREG Summer Conference

The Southeast Asia Research Group’s (SEAREG) twelfth conference will take place August 12-14, 2021, hosted by the University of Arizona.

Five 2021 SEAREG Fellows will present their work:

  • Jangai Jap - "Can Encounters with the State Improve Minority-State Relations? Evidence from Myanmar"

  • Nicholas Kuipers - "Failing the Test' – Indonesian Civil Service Examinations"

  • Nina McMurry - "From Recognition to Integration: Indigenous Autonomy, State Authority, and National Identity in the Philippines"

  • Minh Trinh - "Statistical Misreporting from Below, as Seen from (Very High) Above"

  • Chun-Ying Wu - "Political Regimes and Minority Language Recognition: Evidence from Southeast Asia"

For the first time in SEAREG history, they are offering this event in a hybrid in-person/online format, and all sessions will be open to registered meeting participants.

After completing the registration form, you will receive a confirmation email that includes a link to sign up for the Zoom meeting (if you plan on attending remotely).
